What time do we need to arrive at the ship on our day of Departure?

    Ahoy Patricia!

Captain Jack’s trusty compass has pointed you in the right direction by bringing you to our merry band of pirates here at planDisney. With a Disney cruise on the horizon, your crew must be so excited! Sailing the high seas with Captain Mickey is sprinkled with enough pixie dust that the ship could practically FLY like Captain Hook's ship did in Peter Pan! There’s so much that’s included on a Disney cruise, the challenge is trying to fit it all in. That may explain why so many Guests keep coming back to sail again!

Isn’t it exciting to be thinking about boarding a Disney ship and sailing the seven seas? I am so ready for it! To get you all prepared, you can arrange your Port Arrival Time during the Online Check-In process. Naturally, to be able to complete check-in, your reservation will have to be paid in full. Disney Cruise Line will let you select a Port Arrival Time, and the earliest one available is typically 11:00 A.M. up until mid-afternoon.

Once you check-in, you'll receive a boarding number that will determine when you can board the ship. When the ship is cleared to sail, Guests are permitted to start boarding, which could be as early as 11:30 A.M.-12:00 P.M. For that reason, I try to choose the earliest possible Port Arrival Time because our family will then be in one of the earliest boarding groups and among the first Guests welcomed aboard.

I wouldn’t be meeting my first mate duties if I didn’t tell you about the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Make sure to download it prior to boarding, and it will be your compass for all things planned on your cruise. Don't worry, Captain Jack still has his trusty compass and won't feel jealous about you using this app to keep up with all the MAGIC on the ship. Plus, it includes features like nightly menus, entertainment options, and the ship’s map. Not to mention a great chat feature that's a great way to keep connected with others onboard.

Captain Patricia, sail back by if you have more planning questions. We ARRRRR always happy to help!

    Happy Sailing!
