Hey, hey Bonnie and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. There is just something exciting about boarding the
Disneyland Monorail. The doors open and you step inside; is it a train? a rocket? The excitement builds as you travel the "highway in the sky" over
Downtown Disney District, Disneyland Park, and Disney California Adventure Park. You will have fantastic views of the Matterhorn Bobsleds, Autopia, Grizzly River Run, Buena Vista Street, and Hollywood Land so have your cameras ready.
The Downtown Disney District Monorail station across from
The LEGO Store opens when Disneyland Park opens. Standard operating hours are 8:00 AM till 12:00 AM. Also, Mickey does not want you to miss any magical moment so the Disneyland Monorail also operates during both
Morning Magic and
Extra Magic Hour (an
exclusive benefit for Guests of Disneyland Resort hotels). The three Mark VII trains run every 10 minutes along the 2.5-mile track at 30 miles per hour to the Tomorrowland station above the
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. Which will you be on the Red, Blue, or Orange? You need a
valid theme park ticket to board the Disneyland Monorail from the Downtown Disney District station.
Some of the best views of Disneyland Resort are from the nose cone and tail cone of the Disneyland Monorail. To ride in the front cone with the operator you need to get in line early or wait for the next ride. The tail cone is fantastic as you have time to take awesome panoramic views out the back window while you glide away from the view instead of rapidly approaching from the front.
Disney Dad Tip: Make sure to download the
Disneyland mobile app where you can check wait times, book dining reservations, locate your favorite Disney characters, check
FASTPASS return times and make selections digitally, and even use
Mobile Food & Beverages Ordering to skip the food lines at select locations.
Bonnie, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
