    What time does the monorail begin running? We are staying at SOG and like to hop on at the Polynesian. We have reservations for Chef Mickey's one morning for 7:15am and was hoping the monorail will be up and running at this time. Thanks for answering!

    Hi Marissa!

    Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! I'm glad that you popped by and I'm happy to help you out!

    During the month of August, you'll find that the Resort Monorail (beginning at the Transportation and Ticket Center and then making stops at Disney's Polynesian, Grand Floridian and Contemporary Resorts) begins its operating day at 7:00am.

    You'd be best to plan for your arrival at the Polynesian to be by 6:45am, just to be sure to reach the platform in time and not miss that first monorail! Even if you should happen to arrive at the Contemporary a few minutes late, don't worry ... your table and fun times with Mickey and the gang will still await you!

    Also originating from the Transportation and Ticket Center, the Express Monorail (stopping at only the Magic Kingdom and TTC) begins operations on 'regular park hours' days at 8:30am while the Epcot monorail begins running at 8:00am. These times are adjusted in accordance with Extra Magic Hours and other Special Events.

    Since schedules can change from time to time, you may wish to confirm the monorail's operation schedule for the exact day of your reservation. Check with your front desk staff at Shades of Green, or simply call a Walt Disney World Resort operator at (407) 824-2222 once you've arrived on site.
