1st time mom coming to Disney w/my 6 month old over Thanksgiving! We are excited, however I’m very overwhelmed w/what I should pack for a day at the park. Is it ok to bring my normal diaper bag? What items should I pack? What rides can my baby go on w/us?

    Hi, there!

Katie, I'm so happy to hear you'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in just a few weeks. You're sure to have a magical stay!

As a mom of three, I know traveling with an infant in tow can be overwhelming. But not to fret! It's my pleasure to help you prepare for your Disney vacation.

You are very welcome to bring your diaper bag into the theme parks. I always pack a well-stocked backpack for a day of pixie-dusted adventures with my little one! I pack diapers, wipes, binkies, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, extra clothes, a changing pad, snacks, a sippy cup, ponchos, and a few Ziploc bags (these come in handy for all sorts of things!). For a 6-month old, you may want to pack bottles, formula, and baby food too.

If you forget something, just head to a Baby Care Center! There's a conveniently located Baby Care Center in each of the four theme parks. It's the perfect place to take your baby for a quiet diaper change or feeding! Each location features a changing room, private nursing room, living room area with seating, a kitchen, and an onsite shop with baby care essentials available for purchase. We once ran out of diapers during a day at Magic Kingdom Park, and boy were we glad we could buy more at the Baby Care Center!

One of my favorite things about the Walt Disney World Resort is that the magic of the theme parks is perfect for Guests of ALL ages. There are lots of family-friendly attractions that your baby can experience with you! These attractions don't feature height requirements, so your baby can sit comfortably on your lap or in a baby carrier to ride. As infants, my kids most loved attractions with gentle, easy tracks like The Seas with Nemo & Friends and peaceful boat-ride attractions like "it's a small world."

You'll absolutely need a stroller on hand. Strollers are available for rent at all four theme parks and Disney Springs, but I recommend bringing your own for a baby younger than a year old. Just be sure the stroller you bring meets the size guidelines!

I hope this was helpful, Katie. Please let me know if you have any other questions about visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with your baby!
