Hi there, Howard!
Welcome back to planDisney. I'm so glad you're here!
Although I call the Peach State home, Howard, I'm married to a Louisiana native, so I'm no stranger to Mardi Gras festivities. With this in mind, I'm happy to report that the celebrations at Disney's Port Orleans Resorts have the approval of both my husband and planDisney's own New Orleans local,
Alison. I'm so glad you'll be making them a part of your vacation!
While it's still a bit early to know the exact timing of the
annual parade, details are typically shared in the lobbies of the Port Orleans Resorts -
Riverside and
French Quarter a bit closer to the actual date, in years past it has kicked off around 10 AM near Acadian House at Port Orleans - Riverside before making its way to Port Orleans - French Quarter via the pathway that connects the two Disney Resort hotels.
While celebrations are always subject to change, did you know that — in true New Orleans fashion — Port Orleans - French Quarter typically throws a little something extra on the festivities? You might even get to see a certain princess famous for her beignets. I encourage you to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog as your vacation approaches to see if we are treated to a sneak peek of what's to come, and while you're celebrating like a Louisiana local, be sure to head down to the bayou aboard
Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Don't want to get wet? No problem! I always pack a disposable poncho for this very reason.
I hope this helps you
let the good times roll during your magical vacation, Howard. If any additional questions arise as you finalize your plans, feel free to
stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
