Welcome to planDisney, Leanne!
October is a "practically perfect" time to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth. Not only is the weather great, but there are plenty of pumpkin-tasting snacks to sink your fangs into!
Probably the highlight of this time of year is
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This event runs on select nights at
Magic Kingdom Park and is extremely popular. Not only are the crowd levels lower than on a regular theme park day, but there are loads of magical extras to enjoy, such as special character appearances, Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular!, and Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular. You don't want to miss it.
On those nights when Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is taking place, Magic Kingdom Park will close early (6:00 PM) for regular Guests. However, the other theme parks, namely, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom, will be open all day for you to enjoy. Therefore, on those days when Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is taking place, you're more than welcome to visit one of those other parks. However, you might be helped to know that visiting Magic Kingdom Park on those days might actually be your best option. You might find that the other parks are busier that day, as people tend to flock to those parks since Magic Kingdom Park closes early. Therefore, you might enjoy going to Magic Kingdom Park in the morning and then hopping over to another park later in the day. If you have the
7-Day or 14-Day Magic Ticket you'll have the Park Hopper option, which will give you lots of flexibility.
Although Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the only major Halloween event, you'll find lots of Halloween-themed snacks, décor, and merchandise around the theme parks and Disney Springs. Also, keep an eye out for any surprise announcements on Disney Park Blog. You never know what Disney might be planning!
I hope that's helpful, Leanne. Thanks for stopping by planDisney.
