How much time would it take to leave a park in the late afternoon/early evening to return to our rental home (3 miles from MK)? I don't know the layout of the exits/parking lots to know how much time it will take out of our day to rest for a short time.

    Hi Lori!

I have found that taking a mid-day break from a park can really refresh you and even give you more energy for later that evening!  Based on my experience it can take 30 to 45 minutes or longer on average to get off property from the Magic Kingdom.  This is due to the fact that you have to take a Monorail or Ferry Boat to the Ticket and Transportation Center.  Once you get to the Ticket and Transportation Center you will have to take a Tram to your vehicle and then you will have to drive to your rental home.  You may be able to get to your rental home in 20 minutes if everything lines up just right with the transportation (meaning if you don't have to wait for a Monorail, Ferry Boat, or Tram to arrive). When you go back to the Magic Kingdom later that same afternoon or evening it will take you approximately the same amount of time to get back into the park.

I hope that your next Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
