What time will the IllumiNations and Epcot start on October 28, 2010? Also, how long before show time should we be on the bridge? Thanks

    Beth:

Illuminations at Epcot begins at 9 p.m. nightly. That's the easy part of your question.

Now for the tough part: what time to be on the bridge? I'm assuming you mean the bridge near the International Gateway between Great Britain and France--a very popular, and therefore, very crowded, perch to see Illuminations.  Honestly, you'll see folks begin to sit on the bridge as early as 7:30 p.m. (Our family used to sit there until we found that Canada and Norway can be a nice view without sitting for so long.)

I know you didn't ask, but the best piece of advice I got recently on finding a spot to watch Illuminations was to pay attention to the wind that night.  The smoke from the fireworks tends to block your view, especially if you're downwind.  So even what you might think is a fabulous spot can be marred with watery eyes or simply lots of smoke.

In addition, the last time our family sat on the bridge we also fought the fumes from the boats below that were hosting the Fireworks Cruises, so if sitting so early isn't your cup of tea, you might be delighted by trying out some other vantage points.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
