Hi there, John!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question. I'm happy to chat about
Transportation options from Disney's Boardwalk!
Disney's Boardwalk area is one of my favorite spots to visit on a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. There's something so peaceful and relaxing about walking around the perimeter of Crescent Lake, especially in the evening, as twinkling lights reflect on the water - it's just so gorgeous! While Disney's Boardwalk Inn is currently closed during the Walt Disney World Resort reopening process,
Disney's Boardwalk Villas are open and accepting new reservations. I stayed there on a recent vacation, and had the most magical time!
One of the best things about staying in the Boardwalk area is the access to easy transportation to two of Walt Disney World's theme parks.
Watercraft transportation, in the form of Friendship Boats, is offered to transport Guests from the Boardwalk boat dock to
Epcot and
Disney's Hollywood Studios. Friendship Boat transportation is typically offered around 45 minutes before park opening until one hour after park closing (Note: hours of operation can vary subject to water and weather conditions). Just a short walk around Crescent Lake, Guests also have access to
Disney's Skyliner transportation to Disney's Hollywood Studios, where they can glide across the sky in a brightly painted gondola to reach their destination. (This is definitely more the scenic route, and not the quickest way to reach Hollywood Studios!) Guests can also choose to take the walking paths to both of these parks, and the entrances are just about a 15 minute walk away. Complimentary bus transportation is provided to
Disney's Animal Kingdom Park and
Magic Kingdom Park.
I hope this helps with your planning. Please come back and visit us here at planDisney! We are Guests, just like you, that love to share our experiences and advice to help you plan the most magical vacation ever.
