Ahoy there again, Michelle. Welcome back to planDisney with another question for us.
I’m delighted to see you’ll be sailing on another Disney cruise soon. It’s so hard to think about the end of a magical vacation (and having to go back to reality!) but it’s important to sort out logistics of your return flight home. A great thing about sailing out of the
Port Everglades Terminal is that it is close to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport…just about 15 minutes away!
Debarkation typically starts around 8 AM after the ship has been cleared at port, starting with Guests choosing to do the Express Walk-Off option. However, Disney Cruise Line recommends Guests to not book
outbound flights earlier than 11AM out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Debarkation Day. Personally, I’d like to enjoy a final breakfast in the same rotational dining restaurant as the night prior. Travel days can be hectic, and I prefer not to be harried to rush off the ship. Of course, if you must catch the earliest possible flight home, you can still have an enjoyable breakfast at the buffet.
If you plan to sail on another Disney cruise within the next 24 months, be sure to book a
Placeholder Reservation before you disembark. This onboard-only offer allows you to enjoy 10% discount off prevailing rates on
Disney Cruise Line website, as well as a reduced deposit on sailings 7 days or longer.
Michelle, please don’t hesitate to sail by
planDisney again if you have more trip-planning questions for us.
Hope to SEA ya real soon,
Kiki
