Hi Sharon,
You ain't never had a friend like
Genie+! It takes a little time to learn the ins and outs of mastering Lightning Lane selections, but once you get the hang of it, I think you'll like the way it allows you skip the line at more than the three attractions you used to get with FastPass Plus.
Great news! You do not have to be in the park to make your first Genie+ selection, and you can make that first selection at 7:00 a.m. on the day of your park visit. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort and want to purchase Individual Lightning Lane passes for select attractions in each park, you can also do that at 7:00 a.m., non-resort guests have to wait until the park they are visiting opens.
Keep in mind, if your first Genie+ reservation is later in the day, you will need to wait 2 hours after the park opens to make another selection. However, if your first Genie+ reservation was for 10:00 a.m., you could make another selection as soon as you checked into that queue.
It sounds a bit confusing until you start using it. If you have the
My Disney Experience app on your mobile device. Start looking at the tip board to get an idea of standby wait times and Lightning Lane availability. If you're familiar with Genie+ before your vacation, you'll really be able to minimize your time spent waiting in lines and enjoy more Disney magic.
Hope this helps. Happy planning!
Diane
