1st time DW trip for our family(me, husb, two 8yr old boys). Travel in Oct, not going to MNSSH. Hollyw, MK and AK hours are all short.Do you recommend taking a break from the park even when they have short hours? With crowds at Epc, not sure we will go.

Considering that you have two eight-year-old boys, Rita, I'm not sure that a midday break will be required.  If your children were younger, maybe, but at eight your boys should be good to go for a whole day, especially a short one.  What I would recommend, would be to take an in-park break when tails start to drag.  It could be something as simple as an extended lunch break or grabbing an ice cream cone and staking out a spot in the shade for thirty minutes.  Even visiting the Great Movie Ride (at Hollywood Studios) would constitute a break in my book.  Enjoy your trip!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
