Here ye, hear ye! Royal greetings and welcome to planDisney, Jennifer. Getting an early start sounds like a great way to start your day to pack in as much magic as you can for your time at the Disneyland Resort.
It sounds like you may be looking for something similar to the "Let the Magic Begin" welcome show that was happening at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort. While there aren't any official opening ceremonies at Disneyland, there's no shortage of fun when you're at the parks in time for rope drop.
I'm not usually an early riser, but when I do wake up early, I surely make it count. If you happen to make it early enough to rope drop and are at the front of the pack near the rope, you may find a cheerful Cast Member with a fun sign that says "I made it to Rope Drop!" that you can snap a pic with to mark the occasion. The last time I made it to rope drop with a group of friends, the Cast Member tending the rope was handing out "I made it to Rope Drop" stickers and we were able to snag some for some scrapbooking and junk journaling. While neither of these things are sure bets at rope drop, it sure is a fun and magical surprise when they're available.
Just before the clock strikes
park opening time, an announcement will be played to welcome you, followed by a happy tune to start your day. Adventure is out there, and how you start your day is up to you. I usually like to head to Indiana Jones Adventure or Peter Pan's Flight for rope drop. Sometimes I'll even head directly into my favorite attraction, Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. Since it's the spooky season right now, another great option is to head directly to Haunted Mansion Holiday. The gingerbread house in the ballroom is new and different every year and I can't wait to see (and smell) what frighteningly fantastic creation awaits me on my next visit.
For any Disneyland day, I also recommend having the
Disneyland app handy to quickly find attraction wait times and
mobile order food. Right now there are so many
seasonal eats and treats to enjoy. I've already made my must-try list for my next visit.
