Hello and welcome to
planDisney, Felicia. Thanks for stopping by with your question.
Parking lots at the
Walt Disney World Theme Parks and the Transportation and Ticket Center (the parking lot for Magic Kingdom Park) open up anywhere from about 45 minutes to 1 hour before that specific park's scheduled opening time. I like to err on the side of caution and arrive promptly one hour prior (I love being inside the Walt Disney World Theme Parks as early as possible) but sometimes I do have to wait for the parking lots to open up closer to that 45-minute prior mark. It all really depends on if the lot is ready and who is working that day. There are designated parking areas for Guests with disabilities but you'll need to have your disability parking permit to have access to these areas. You'll simply follow the signs and the Cast Members' directions on how to get to these designated parking areas.
Once you've parked your vehicle, you'll head up to the Transporation and Ticket Center hub. This is where you'll go through security and then head toward the
monorail or the
ferry to take you over to Magic Kingdom Park. These will be running once you are up there and with it being early in the day you shouldn't experience much, if any, of a wait. The ferry ride takes right around 10 minutes and the monorail about the same. I actually like to take the ferry over in the morning to take in all of the views during the daytime and then the monorail back in the evening. It's fun to see Magic Kingdom Park and all of the resorts lit up at night this way.
Magic Kingdom Park is such a fun way to spend a Disney day, I know you all are going to have a great time. If you are feeling snacky, my very favorite treat in all of Walt Disney World can be found in Adventureland. If you haven't already tried the spring rolls from the spring roll cart you are in for a treat! They always have two flavors - the standard cheeseburger and a seasonal flavor which I believe to be pepper jack pastrami right now. They are both fantastic!
I hope this helps plan your day a little bit better, Felicia. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help!
Enjoy!
