Howdy, Kathleen! Welcome to planDisney!
Let's be honest; the food is always the best part of any vacation, isn't it? But, of course, that goes double when it comes to all of the delicious culinary creations available throughout Walt Disney World! So, I'm glad to hear you are already starting to think about making Advanced Dining Reservations, so let’s get to it!
Advanced Dining Reservations can be made 60 days in advance, starting at 6:00 a.m. Mickey Standard time (AKA EST). So, set that alarm, and grab a LARGE cup of coffee, so you’re all fueled up to log in bright and early to secure your reservations. Also, if you're staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you get the added benefit of being able to book for your entire stay (for up to 10 days) 60 days before your scheduled check-in. So, you get a jump start on securing some of those hard-to-snag reservations at Walt Disney World's most popular restaurants, like the out-of-this-world Space 220 Restaurant. How awesome is that?
Making your Advanced Dining Reservations is super simple, thanks to the My Disney Experience app. All you’ll need to do is follow these simple steps:
- Log into your My Disney Experience app starting at 6:00 a.m.
- Click on the "+" in the middle of the menu bar.
- Select "Check Dining Availability."
- Add your party size, and select the date you are looking for.
- Next, select what time or meal you are looking to reserve.
- From there, you will see the list of all available reservations. Select the time and restaurant that works best for you.
- Then, follow the prompts to complete your reservation, and you are all set!
Now, don't lose faith if you're not seeing the reservation you were hoping for right away! One of my all-time top Walt Disney World Vacation planning tips is to keep a close eye on your My Disney Experience app in the days leading up to your vacation. Guest's plans change all the time, and since there is a $10 charge per Guest (though that amount is subject to change) for any reservation cancellation done with less than 24 hours' notice, you will see that many dining times pop up in the days and weeks leading up to your visit as those cancellations come through. So, I recommend checking the app about 2-3 times per day and almost always find the reservation I am looking for. This is especially common in the few days before my arrival. As our pal Peter Pan once said, "All you need is faith, trust, and a little pixie dust!"
I just know you will have an absolute blast on your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World. We planDisney foodies LOVE to talk about our favorite snacks and meals available throughout Walt Disney World, so visit again soon if you'd like to hear some of our recommendations!
Have a magical day!
