Only have time for 1 day at the parks. Have never been. My children are 6 (boy) and 9 (girl). I am trying to decide if I should get the park hopper, or just get a single day ticket, but I can't decide which park.

    Hi, Lorrine!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. A spooktacular first visit to the Happiest Place on Earth sounds like a wonderful plan! Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is one of my favorite special events because of all the fall-inspired food, decor, attractions and entertainment. From Haunted Mansion Holiday in Disneyland Park to Guardians of the Galaxy -- Monsters After Dark in Disney California Adventure Park, there are so many spooky limited-time touches to enjoy in both theme parks.

I typically recommend taking advantage of the benefits of Park Hopper Tickets if possible. With a Park Hopper Ticket, you'd have access to Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park throughout the day, with the privilege of moving back and forth between the two adjacent theme parks as you wish. That way, you can tailor your schedule according to available entertainment, dining and attractions in both parks. However, if you wish to focus on just one park, my pick would be the classic original, Disneyland Park, since it’s your first visit to the Disneyland Resort

Check out the theme park attractions list. It can be sorted by age interest, height requirement and thrill level. If thrill rides are at the top of your list, start your day at Disneyland Park by heading to either Space Mountain or Indiana Jones, two of the park’s most popular attractions. Radiator Springs Racers and Incredicoaster are two great picks at Disney California Adventure Park.

I hope this information helps, Lorrine, and that your family’s visit is a dream come true! Please send more questions as your vacation approaches.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
