what time is check in and check out at the Disney campgrounds? thank you

Hey there, Ter. Welcome to planDisney

I see that you have a trip planned to the Most Magical Place On Earth in a few days. I bet you are getting so excited! Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is such a fun place to stay. I actually stay at the campground a few times a year and always have so much fun. Check-in at The Fort (as it is lovingly nicknamed) is at 3:00 p.m. If you arrive early and your site is not yet ready, you'll be directed to park in an overflow lot until your site becomes available for you. If you happen to be staying in a cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground check-in is also at 3:00 p.m. I suggest doing the online check-in via your MyDisneyExperience account before your vacation. You can sign up to be notified with a text message when your cabin or site becomes available. You are able to input your estimated arrival time which greatly helps the campground prepare for your arrival - especially if you think you'll be early. Check-out is at 11:00 a.m. each day.

While you are at The Fort I hope you'll enjoy some fried chicken and cornbread at P & J's Southern Takeout. It's one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat. It's located down in The Settlement area. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner but I thoroughly enjoy their dinner offerings. If you haven't already, I also recommend renting a golf cart to zip around during your stay. The Fort is pretty spread out and a golf cart just makes things a lot easier. You can call 407-WDW-PLAY to reserve a golf cart before your trip.

I hope this helps, Ter. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Happy camping!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
