    What time is the 5k at Castaway Cay?

    Hi Robyn!

    Ahoy and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  Your Disney Cruise Line vacation is coming up so soon and I know you are looking forward to your adventure onboard and some fun in the sun!

    Castaway Cay is one of my favorite places to stop when sailing with Captain Mickey!  Who wouldn’t like a beach day with photo opportunities with your favorite Characters, snorkeling AND a delicious lunch with the most incredible chocolate chip cookies?!?!  But before we hit the beach, my husband and I always start our day with the fun Castaway Cay 5K!  It’s the perfect way to see the island while getting a great workout in!  And when you cross the finish line you are rewarded with a finishers medal which is a great souvenir to take home to remember your accomplishment!  Registration for the Castaway Cay 5K is done onboard at Guest Services and I do recommend stopping by early in your voyage to secure your race bib and spot in the run.  Start time for the race varies from voyage to voyage but typically you will meet in a specified location onboard around 8:00 or 8:30 in the morning and make your way as a group to the starting line.  So, the run will likely begin around 9:00AM.  If you have Mouseketeers with you that are not quite old enough to participate in the Castaway Cay 5K you can check them into Scuttle’s Cove, the island’s Youth Club, on your way to the starting line.

    So, don’t forget your running shoes (and sunscreen) for an unforgettable run!  Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure at sea, Robyn!
