Howdy, Brittan and welcome to planDisney!
Disney's
Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Disney Resort property! I have been camping there since I was a little girl and love to take my family now that I have my own kids. We just love the tranquility of Fort Wilderness and knowing we are so close to the Disney Magic. Being able to hear the train whistle of the
Walt Disney World Railroad from
Magic Kingdom Park always puts a smile on my face.
I spoke with a friendly Cast Member to make sure I have the correct information and was advised that
Disney Resort bus transportation typically starts 45 minutes prior to theme park opening. The operating schedule for
watercraft transportation between Fort Wilderness and Magic Kingdom Park for July starts at 7:30 AM. If you need to take the Fort Wilderness internal bus transportation from your campsite loop to the Settlement Depot for the boats or to the Outpost Depot for the buses, those buses start at 7:00 AM. Please note that operating times are subject to change.
If you would like to get to the theme parks earlier than the complimentary transportation will get you there, you can drive yourself and park in the parking lot. Theme park parking lots typically open about 45-60 minutes prior to the parks opening, which would get you there faster. If you don't have your own car during your vacation, you can use the
Disney Minnie Van Service connected by Lyft and driven by Walt Disney World Cast Members. You can also use another rideshare service, but at Magic Kingdom Park, the Minnie Vans drop you off at the bus loop right near the entrance to the park, which is a great advantage instead of being dropped off at the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Please
stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
