How much time should we allow to travel by bus from AoA to the MK on Thanksgiving Day? They have EMH starting at 7am! Does AoA share buses with other resorts or make other stops along the way?

    Hi Rebecca,

One of the many, many great things about the Art of Animation resort is that it does not share buses with other resorts. Once you step onto the bus, it's a straight shot to the front gate of your favorite theme park.

The last time I took the bus from Art of Animation to Magic Kingdom, I timed the ride. It took 18 minutes from the moment the wheels started turning until the doors opened at the Magic Kingdom station. Buses usually run at least every 20 minutes. So if you absolutely want to be inside the gate and ready to go when Magic Kingdom opens for the day, I would suggest arriving at the bus stop at 6:15 or so.

I hope your family is better at getting up early than mine is. I will be lucky to get my husband and daughters out of bed for our late morning breakfast reservation at the Polynesian on Thanksgiving Day!

On those few occasions when we have taken advantage of early morning Extra Magic Hours, we've been able to enjoy several attractions easily before the park opens to other guests.

So go for it, and have a wonderful holiday! Please let me know if I answer any other questions for you.
