How much time should I allow for the Magical Express from Animal Kingdom Resort to Animal Kingdom Park?

Hi, Erin! It is so good to hear from you again. Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney!

Disney's Magical Express is a complimentary service that transports you from Orlando International Airport to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel to start your vacation and takes you back to the airport at the end of your trip. I believe you are asking about the Walt Disney World Bus Service, which is also a complimentary transportation service but takes you from your hotel to all four Theme Parks as well as Disney Springs. Please note, Disney recommends you allow 1.5-hours if arriving for your Advanced Dining Reservation. That being said, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is very close to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and is typically not a long bus ride, approximately 10 to 15 minutes. However, the timing of catching a bus can make this trip longer. If a bus JUST left before you, you are looking at 15 minutes for it to arrive at the park, a few minutes to load and unload, 15 minutes back to the hotel, and a few more minutes to load and unload, then 15 minutes for your ride in - which could easily take about an hour. At peak times, you may also have to wait for a second bus to arrive. This sort of delay doesn't happen often, but it is a possibility. I am a rule follower, so I always stick with the 1.5-hour recommendation. You don't need to be late for your very important date like the White Rabbit, Erin!

Busses will start running 45 minutes before the Theme Parks open. If you have an early morning breakfast Advanced Dining Reservation before park opening or pretty close to it, check with your hotel's front desk the day before to ask what times the breakfast busses will be running.

    Have a magical day, Erin!
