How much time should I allow to enjoy MNSSHP? I am traveling to WDW late Sept. w/ DH, our 3 kids (ages 5,7,9) and our sitter. I bought tix for the party Fri, but that's the only night I could get dinner for 2 at LeCellier, at 9:20. Think I can do both?

    Hi Kelly,

I am happy to hear that you are heading to Walt Disney World Resort in September and are planning to attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!  I'm positive that it will be one of the highlights of your family's vacation.

In general, I typically recommend spending as much time at a Special Event in Disney as possible.  Guests attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will be admitted to Magic Kingdom Park as early as 4:00, so I would plan on arriving as close to 4:00 as possible, to maximize your time in the theme park.  You are bringing along your babysitter, so leaving for dinner at Le Cellier is a great way for the kids to enjoy the party while you and your husband have your own Disney time as well.  After a few hours at the party, you can sneak away for a quiet meal with your husband and them head back for the end of the party if you wish.  For many families, the highlight of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is the special Halloween Themed Parade and Fireworks.  There is a strong possibility that if you head over to Le Cellier for dinner you may miss one or both of these fabulous attractions.

Another option would be to try for another dining location that would be available for another night.  My family LOVES the Yachtsman Steakhouse located at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, as well as Shula's Steak House located at Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort.

The bottom line is that it certainly is doable and dinner for two would be a welcome break for you and your husband while on vacation.  If you are ok with missing a few of the highlights of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, then I would say go for it!

Please let me know if you have any other questions while planning.  I would be happy to help you and your family make the most of your "Disney Time" together!
