How much time should I allot for table service breakfast dining out of the parks (to and from the parks)? We are going to Chef Mickeys and O’hana but not days we are going to MK. Thank you!

Hi ya, Lindsay! There's no better way to kill two birds with one stone at Walt Disney World than booking a Character Dining Experience. 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast and Chef Mickey's are sure to delight all the members of your traveling party. Drinking P.O.G. juice with Stitch or getting to wave your napkin in the air with Chef Mickey and his pals...it doesn't get much better than that!

From my personal experience, Character Breakfasts take about an hour. Last time we dined at Chef Mickey's, we were able to eat and make it through the Magic Kingdom Park turnstiles in 80 minutes, which included the time it took to walk from Disney's Contemporary Resort to the Park. Since you plan on visiting some of the other Parks on those days, I'd allow at least 30-45 minutes for transportation. The longest I've waited for a monorail in the morning is about five minutes, but the buses come about every 15 minutes. The fastest option, however, is (almost always) taking a Minnie Van which is a ride-sharing service that works through the Lyft app.

One thing I often forget to factor in is the amount of time it takes to get through bag check and security- a rough estimate is 15-20 minutes depending on the time of day. Although there are a lot of variables at play, budgeting about two hours total is a safe bet. If you're starting to think about FastPass+ selections, this timetable should help.

I hope you have a magical vacation this summer, Lindsay, and tell Mickey I said hello!
