What time will we be able to board the ship? What day is pirate night? Will be be able to use magic bands as keys, or will everyone need a swipe card?

Anchors aweigh, Rosalynda! It's my pleasure to welcome you to planDisney and am happy to chat about your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation.

Rosalynda, if you haven't sailed with Captain Mickey before, you are in for a pixie-dusted voyage! From your favorite characters meeting and greeting around the ship to Broadway-caliber entertainment available onboard, you might love this vacation so much that you consider booking another voyage before you even return to land.

Now, let's dive into your questions. For most sailings, guests can begin arriving at 11:15 AM, however, when you complete online check-in, you will be assigned a specific port arrival time. If this is your first Disney Cruise Line vacation, you can log in exactly 30 days before your departure date to complete your online check-in and select a port arrival time. In order to have the largest selection of port arrival times, I encourage you, if possible, to log in at midnight on that 30-day mark.

Now, let's talk about Pirates IN the Caribbean! Rosalynda, first, it's important to note that not all sailings offer a Pirate Night (particularly those that visit colder climates such as Alaska or the Norwegian fjords are too chilly for those fair weather fiends). If you are on a sailing to the Bahamas, Mexico, or a destination in the Caribbean that offers a Pirate Night, you'll see those details listed on your Disney Cruise Line Navigator App when you board the ship. Make sure to have the most up-to-date version of the app downloaded on your smartphone before boarding. The app will let you know which evening these festivities take place as well as time and place.

Rosalynda, while I haven't yet been on a cruise where we have used the DisneyBand+ to access our stateroom, I can't wait to take advantage of this technology. Currently, select sailings on the Disney Wish and Disney Fantasy are utilizing DisneyBand+ with the Disney Magic scheduled to begin October 22, 2023. We don't yet have a schedule as to when the Disney Dream or the Disney Wonder might adopt this hands-free option. If you are sailing on the Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy, or Disney Magic, I would encourage you to contact Disney Cruise Line via email with this question and provide your reservation confirmation number so that a crew member can check into your specific itinerary.

If you have any other questions, we would be happy to assist you again here at planDisney. Wishing you a truly Magical experience,

    Lauren
