Hello Doris,
Thanks for stopping by to see us here at planDisney, and thanks for your great question!
Tickets for the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks are priced according to a date-based pricing model. The prices for
theme park tickets will vary depending on the month and the day of the month.
Standard theme park tickets have a base price. Just as an example, the current standard base price for a ticket for a Guest ages 10+ is $109. The ticket price will typically increase to varying amounts depending on when you choose to visit. If you visit in the August timeframe, for example, you might see the ticket price at the base price. If you visit during an in-demand timeframe -- think the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, for example -- you can expect to see that the ticket price is higher.
You can see for yourself how the theme park tickets are priced by going to the
Theme Park Tickets page. If you select the number of days you want to visit the theme parks, and then select your ticket type (you can use a ticket type of 1 Park Per Day for easy comparison), you'll quickly see the ticket pricing calendar where you'll be prompted to select the days you plan to visit the theme parks. As you use the calendar to look ahead from month-to-month, you'll see the various ticket prices for that type of ticket. Once you select when you want to visit, you'll be prompted to select the number of tickets you need for Guests ages 10+ and for Guests ages 3-9 (these tickets are typically priced a few dollars less than tickets for Guests ages 10+).
It's also worth noting, Doris, that you can save money on purchasing multi-day tickets. That is, the "price per day" gets lower the more days you add to your ticket.
It's also worth noting that you can add options to your ticket. For example, you can add the
Park Hopper Option and visit more than one theme park in the same day. The Water Parks and Sports Option gives you admission to a Walt Disney World Resort water park like Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park as well as some fun sports activities like miniature golf. The Park Hopper Plus Option is like a combination of the Park Hopper Option and the Water Parks and Sports Option.
One more quick note to add, Doris. When you purchase your theme park tickets, the
tickets will be valid for admission for a certain number of days based on the date you selected to first use them. For example, if you purchase a 7-day ticket, that ticket will expire 10 days after the date you selected as your start date. This approach gives you great flexibility in when you visit the theme parks. You can add in some days when you don't visit the theme parks and take these days to relax and unwind at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel or visit fun spots like
Disney Springs.
