We have tickets scheduled starting 10/2/21. When does the Genie plan start? Do we need to purchase now or wait till we get closer to our trip? Thanks

    Hi Ashley!

You are only a few weeks away from being in sight of Cinderella Castle! Your arrival at the start of Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration means you will be one of the first guests to view the Disney Enchantment fireworks show!

When Disney Genie is implemented, a personalized itinerary designed to help you get as much as possible out of your Disney day will be available in your My Disney Experience app. Genie+, a purchased extra that allows you to schedule Lightening Lane access for select attractions one at a time the entire day, will also be available. You will be able to add on Genie+ to your tickets in advance or the same day. If you purchase the same day, it will only apply to that day. If you purchase Genie+ in advance, it applies to your entire length of stay. Lightening Lane passes for an individual attraction will be purchased the same day you use them. Disney has not announced a start date for the new Genie system, but we do know it will kick off sometime this fall.

Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for news of when the new Genie system will begin. Let's hope it's in time for the 50th Anniversary Celebration and your trip.

    Enjoy the celebration with Mickey!
