Howdy, Sandra! Welcome back to planDisney!
I understand that planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is a multi-step process and can be just a little overwhelming! That's where we come in here at planDisney! We're always here and happy to help answer your questions prior to your arrival! Remain calm and trust the pixie dust!
If you've
purchased any type of ticket to Walt Disney World theme parks, your park admission does include access to all of the rides in each park. With your ticket purchase, you'll be able to utilize the stand-by line for each attraction. So, get ready to feel the wind in your hair on
Test Track or spot as many animals as you can on
Kilimanjaro Safaris!
Now, if you're a little impatient, like me and my dear friend Donald Duck, you do have the option to add
Disney Genie+ to your tickets. Disney Genie+ allows you to make reservations for rides ahead of time and utilize the Lightning Lane for faster access. Lightning Lanes are located next to the stand-by lines at each attraction and boast a shorter wait time. You can add Disney Genie+ to the entirety of your tickets ahead of time or choose to add it day by day during your stay. Be sure to read through the
details of making ride selections, when you can choose your next Lightning Lane, and more before purchasing.
Sandra, to add another layer to your planning, there are a few
Individual Lightning Lane attractions that are not included with your purchase of Disney Genie+. These tend to be the more popular rides with the heftiest wait times, including
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and
Avatar Flight of Passage. To use the Lightning Lane for these attractions, you will need to make an additional purchase the morning of your park visit.
I do know this is a lot of information to digest. The short answer- your park tickets include access to all rides in the parks. The longer answer- If you'd like to skip the line, you'll need to consider adding Disney Genie+ or making Individual Lightning Lane purchases. No matter what path you choose to take, you will still be able to experience all the magic of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Happy planning!
