Welcome to planDisney, Nancy!
Let me begin by extending a huge thank you from my military family to yours! “Thank You!” Your family’s service does not go unnoticed, and Disney does a great job of honoring eligible service members with a few incredible offerings.
The first savings you can find are savings on
Disney Resort Hotels. The eligible service member must present their ID at check-in for verification purposes, but this offer can be booked by calling the Walt Disney World Resort. My family is an ‘in the parks’ type of family, so we usually lean towards staying at one of the
Value Resorts using this offer. Plus, my little ones are obsessed with the larger-than-life characters and the theming these resorts offer. All of that is just a few feet outside of their room, so they love being submerged in the magic of Disney from the moment they wake up until the moment they fall asleep. Since your party consists of little ones, I think they would love any of these resorts as well.
Disney All-Star Movies is a great option, especially when staying in the Toy Story section surrounded by Andy's Toys!
Now, when it comes to theme park tickets, the eligible service member can purchase
these discounted tickets through their local U.S. military base ticketing office. There are a few options to choose from in terms of how many days you plan on visiting the theme parks. When we visit, we like to stay for almost a week, so we usually end up purchasing the 6-Day option. Plus, these tickets don’t have to be used consecutively! They do require a
theme park reservation, but as long as you use them before their expiration date, you’re good to go. My family used four of our six days in March, and we are currently planning on a quick weekend trip to use the remaining two days sometime over the summer! So this is also an option for your family.
If your family is looking to visit for the day only, I recommend taking a look at other
ticketing options. These can be purchased directly through the Walt Disney World website, and no military verification is needed. Keep in mind that Guests three and up are the only ones who will need valid theme park admission. That means your younger Mouseketeers are good to go!
Nancy, I hope this helps answer your question so that you and your family can begin your planning. Before I leave you, I also recommend taking a look at all the other current
special offers available. Sometimes extending your visit is worth it! In the meantime, if there’s anything else we can help with, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Thank you again for your family’s service.
