We have tickets and reservations next week. Our trip may be cancelled due to an airline strike. There are 4 names on the tickets and there is a good chance 2 of us could come another time but not all 4. Can we change names on tickets in these circumstances

    Hello, Chelsea,

“Do hurry! We mustn't be late for the party, you know.” —Mrs. Darling, Peter Pan

We too have had the worry of missing a visit to Disneyland due to transportation issues beyond our control. I sincerely hope the matter is resolved amicably and your whole party is able to safely travel to sunny Southern California.

While I hope you won’t need it, here’s some information about the names linked to your tickets. If you’d like to modify the name on a theme park ticket, you may chat with a Cast Member online or via the Disneyland mobile app. You may also speak with a Cast Member with the Tickets phone line. They can help make a change to a name on a ticket if needed.

It is also usually OK to use a theme park ticket even if the name on the ticket doesn’t match the Guest using the ticket. Normally, to verify a ticketholder, Cast Members at the park entrances use a digital photograph taken when the ticket is activated rather than checking a Guest’s ID. Only certain promotional tickets require verification of eligibility using a photo ID. It is worth noting that the names on tickets are still useful for keeping track of who in your party is using which ticket. That is handy for times when a group may temporarily split to enjoy different attractions, perhaps using their Lightning Lane queues. My family has found that it is still manageable to work with only a few tickets with name anomalies.

Tony’s Tip: Multiple members of your party may also link all of your party’s tickets to their account in the Disneyland mobile app. Find the Tickets and Passes screen in the app’s ☰ feature menu. Then tap the ‘+’ button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen then tap the “Link Tickets & Passes” button and follow the prompts on the screen. Then, anyone with the tickets linked to their account can use the app to book Lightning Lane return times for the whole party.

I’m sending pixie dust and thinking happy thoughts that you and your party can follow that second star to the right and straight on ‘til morning, Chelsea. Hopefully, that will land you in The Happiest Place on Earth very soon!
