We have 8 tickets purchased (5 in one family and 3 in the other) if I link them to my account does that mean we all have to arrive together, or can the other party on friends and family list access their tickets if they are linked to my account?

Hey Howdy Hey Abigail and welcome to planDisney!

Thank you so much for stopping by with your question on the specifics of ticket purchases with larger groups. I will be happy to give you more information so you can better plan for your upcoming trip. Now, let's get this wagon train a-movin' and get you some answers!

In most cases, when you purchase theme park tickets for the Walt Disney World Resort, you should be able to link them electronically to your My Disney Experience account. If you need to do this, log into your account and on the home screen towards the middle you will find a ticket icon. Hover over the icon and select the "Link Tickets" button. Follow the steps and you should be set. As you are linking your tickets to your account,  you should be prompted to attach them to a profile of someone in your party you are traveling with.

To double-check your tickets are linked appropriately, you would go to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section of your My Disney Experience account. Look for the heading "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker" which you will click on. Once there, you should see all of the members of your party and the tickets they may or may not be assigned to. For any unassigned tickets, you will be able to assign them by clicking on a button with a drop-down menu of the member you want to assign them to. You can also reassign with the same process, say if you have a child's ticket linked to an adult, click the reassign button on the right and reassign appropriately. Now as long as the tickets are assigned appropriately you should be all set to head to the parks and tap in without issues. Date-based ticket purchases no longer require reservations so your party should be able to visit whichever park they would like that morning pending availability.

As long as everyone is linked together to share plans, you can have one person be the designated planner for the group if needed. They will be able to make Lightning Lane reservations or book Virtual Queues for the group. Either of these options can be booked for the group or a select few members. It is a super great way to navigate the parks and plan the details of attractions and dining reservations together.

Abigail, I hope you and your party have the rootinest tootinest time in the Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any further questions, you've got a friend in us here at planDisney to help you out!

    Happy planning,

    Nick
