Hi Hyoseon!
I'm thrilled to hear you have plans to visit the Disneyland Resort this week and on July 17th! That is a very special day in Disneyland history as the park opened on that date in 1955. While the resort has been in full 70th Anniversary celebration mode since May, you will hopefully be there on the day itself! There's always a little extra magic in the air on July 17th, so be on the lookout for pixie dust.
While my planDisney pals and I aren't able to book tickets and reservations for Guests, we can try to troubleshoot together. It sounds like you have already purchased tickets and are looking to make
theme park reservations for this Thursday, July 17th. First things first, let's check the
theme park reservation calendar to see if July 17th is currently available. This calendar updates live as Guests make and cancel reservations, and as of this moment, July 17th is currently open for all ticket types—One Park Per Day Tickets, Park Hoppers, and Disneyland Anniversary Tickets. This is subject to change, but that's good news so far!
I can think of two possibilities that may be blocking your ability to make reservations. The first is that you already have them! If you purchased theme park tickets on the Disneyland website or through the app, you would have selected a date to visit, which would have booked the theme park reservation for you. It looks like you have access to the app, so head to the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner and first select "My Tickets & Passes" to double-check that all of your tickets are visible. Head back to the three-line icon and scroll to "Future Plans". This is where you will see any upcoming theme park reservations.
If your tickets are linked and you do not have reservations booked, another issue may be that your tickets are currently booked for a lower tier than is required to attend on July 17th. Single-day tickets are sold in tiers with prices varying depending on the day of the week and time of year. Tier 0 is the least expensive with the most blockout dates, while Tier 6 is the most expensive with the fewest. It looks like July 17th requires a Tier 5 ticket or higher. You can double-check your ticket tier in the app in "My Tickets & Passes", just under the ticket holder's name. If you find that your tickets are Tier 4 or below, you can try to upgrade in the app by tapping the "Change Ticket" icon just under one of the tickets. Next, you will select the tickets you'd like to change; in your case, this would be all 8. Hit "Continue" and scroll down to select "Change Dates". On the next page, you will see a calendar that will show you the price difference to make reservations on various days, including July 17th. If this is the case, just proceed with making the upgrade for a reservation that day.
I'm hoping this might resolve your issue, and you will find yourself strolling down Main Street on Thursday! You are in luck as
Walt Disney—A Magical Life is a new attraction set to open on July 17th in honor of the 70th. You will join Walt Disney himself in his office, where he will share his big dreams and words of wisdom. It was just announced that this attraction will have a
Virtual Queue when it opens, which you can join in the Disneyland app at 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
Hyoseon, I am sending you on your way with a little magic for an unforgettable visit.
See ya real soon!
