we have tickets and Park reservations. is there anything we need to do before we arrive at the park for our first day. you used to have to go to guest services and register is that still true? or we just show up and scan our tickets and walk in?

Hi there, Erin! Welcome to planDisney. With your tickets and park reservations lined up, you are one step closer to the magic! You no longer need to stop at Guest Services to register, and I'd love to guide you through what your first day will look like and what you'll need to do.

If you haven't done so already, link your tickets using the ID number featured on each ticket in the Disneyland Mobile App. You can do this in a few easy steps: Tap the three horizontal lines (≡) in the bottom right corner, tap "My Ticket & Passes," tap the (+) in the upper right corner, and tap "Link Tickets & Passes."

Both parks have recently updated their traditional turnstiles to automatic entry gates, making the arrival process quick and seamless. When you arrive at your designated park, simply scan each ticket at the entry gate, pause for a quick photo that will be linked to each ticket, and then watch the gates open so your whole party can step inside and start the magic together. Friendly Cast Members will be nearby if you need any assistance along the way.

You'll use your ticket via the Disneyland Mobile App to re-enter the parks and scan for Lightning Lanes that you may have purchased. The app is incredibly handy for checking wait times, ordering food in advance, and making reservations for table service dining.

I highly recommend using a MagicBand+ when you’re in the parks. You can easily scan your band to enter the parks and check in at Lightning Lane entrances, keeping both hands free for Mickey pretzels and churros! I find that using a MagicBand+ is much easier than fiddling with my phone while re-entering the parks or checking in at Lightning Lane entrances. There are so many designs to choose from, and the possibilities are endless. These can be found in select shops at the Disneyland Resort as well as on the Disney Store if you want to purchase one ahead of time.

Erin, thank you so much for stopping by with your question. I hope this helps you feel ready for a seamless and magical trip at The Happiest Place on Earth! With everything ready to go, you're all set to enjoy the magic, surprises, and wonders around every corner. If any questions come up along the way, planDisney is always here to help.
