We have tickets, not magic bands, and are visiting Disney World with a 3 yo and an 8 yo. We are debating between paying to upgrade to magic bands for our kids, or using lanyards and Id holders to help our kids keep track of their tickets. Advise please!

    Hi Michael,

To MagicBand or not to MagicBand, that is the question!  There are a list of practical reasons why purchasing MagicBands is a great idea for your children.  MagicBands are waterproof, easy to keep secure, do not have to be stowed, and give children a sense of autonomy.  But the biggest reason why I vote for you to purchase MagicBands for your children is because they are MAGIC!

My own children love wear their MagicBands from the moment we leave for vacation until we have arrived back at our home.  We consider our MagicBands a souvenir from our vacation and enjoy collecting a new one with each visit.  MagicBands are not only useful, they are totally fun!

Michael it's not necessary to purchase MagicBands in order to enjoy your upcoming vacation with your family.  Your theme park tickets will give you access to everything a MagicBand will.  However if you are looking to sprinkle a little extra Pixie Dust over your children, surprising them with MagicBands will do the trick.

Thank you for submitting your question to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  We hope you have a Magical vacation and if you have any further vacation planning questions, please come back and visit us again!

    Blessings,
