I have tickets to MVMCP. On this day, I ONLY plan to go to the party and NOT use a park ticket. I was able to make FastPasses for the 4-6 time frame. Do I use the party ticket card to get on the rides or my Magic Band. I do not want to lose a park ticket.

Hi Lisa and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for sending us your question about special ticketed events!

I totally hear where you’re coming from, because I was in your same position earlier this month when I attended Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. I also had regular theme park tickets linked to My Disney Experience account and a FastPass+ selection for 5 p.m., using my special event ticket. I absolutely did not want the system to use one of my regular park tickets.

To make sure everything goes smoothly, here’s what you should do. When you arrive for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, look for a Cast Member with a tablet, at the Magic Kingdom Park entrance where you scan your MagicBand. Tell them that you are there for the party and that you want to only use that party ticket. They are there to help with precisely this issue, so you won’t have to worry. They will pull up the right ticket, give you a special band to wear on your wrist and off you’ll go to be very merry for the evening!

Lisa, you can use your MagicBand or the hard ticket. Whatever feels best for you is what you should do. They have the same function either way as long your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ticket is linked to your My Disney Experience account

I hope you’ll take a few minutes to enjoy the Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. Mickey and his pals will be dressed in their holiday best and the man of the hour himself, Santa Claus, makes an appearance in a grand and magical way!
