Hey Howdy Hey Suzanne and welcome to planDisney!
Oh boy Suzanne, you are in for a rootin' tootin' not-so-scarry time with
Mickey's Not-So-Scarry Halloween party this year. There are so many special and unique offerings during this special after-hours event you won't want to miss. Before we get too far into the details, let's talk about how to plan your day!
One of the big things that has happened this year that has greatly impacted a Guests day in the parks was the release of the
Disney Genie service. The Disney Genie service comes in 2 varieties, one that is completely free and will help you to plan your day and the other, Genie+, will give you access to Lightning Lane entrances, which are lines with reduced wait times for most attractions in each park. This may be the reason planning your day looks a little different than in years past. I am excited to share with you some tips on how to use Genie service that may make planning your day much easier!
With Genie service, this is a free addition to your
My Disney Experience app. With Genie, you can select the day of your park reservation and a valid ticket to start your planning from there. You can go to that day and walk through the steps as Genie will ask you for attractions, shops and food locations you may or may not be interested in. Tell Genie all of your interests and Genie will take the planning from there! During your day, the program will guide you through the park taking into consideration your interests as well as current wait times for attractions. Genie will update and guide you to the attractions with the shorter wait times to try and help maximize your experience in the park. Disney has recently updated their site as well as the My Disney Experience app for
special "how-to" videos on getting started and set up with Genie Service you might want to reference. The best part about the Genie service is that it is FREE!
Since you will be visiting Magic Kingdom during the Halloween party, I would try to take Genie's advice, get done what you can and just know after the park closes to the general public, numbers significantly reduce as well as wait times for most attractions. Make sure to check your My Disney Experience app for the Event Guide which will give you times for things such as the parades and fireworks. You can also check out the special treats available only during this party and special photo spots for some spooky pictures you won't be able to get anywhere else! You can also check out the
Foodie Guide to all the special treats from our friends over at
Disney Parks Blog to help you prioritize these ghoulish delights!
Best of luck as you continue to plan your trip later this fall and if you have any further questions, please feel free to stop back and let u know, we would be happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
