Hiya Vanessa,
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party question! You and your family are in for a fang-tastically frightful time. From ghoulishly good treats to the energetic Zom-Beatz Bash dance party, and of course, the hauntingly fun
Boo-to-You Parade, there’s so much magic (and candy!) waiting for you under the pumpkin-lit skies of Magic Kingdom.
Now, let’s float right into your costume question! First, I have to say—your 6-year-old dressing as Maleficent? That’s wickedly wonderful! A child after my own villain-loving heart. The
general rule for costumes is that clothing that touches or drags on the ground isn’t allowed, purely for safety reasons. So if the cape is ankle-length and not sweeping the floor, you should be just fine. And honestly, a shorter cape is perfect for casting spells and collecting candy all night long!
While you’re in the park, keep your eyes peeled for some spook-tacular character sightings. You never know who might appear —sometimes even Maleficent herself makes an appearance at
Princess Fairytale Hall (though that’s always subject to change).
Here’s a pro tip from one mom to another: bring a large bag to collect all that candy! Those trick-or-treat trails are pure magic, and trust me—your cauldron will be overflowing with sweets before the night is through. We always bring one big bag to combine everyone’s treats at the end—it makes heading back to the resort after a long, frightfully fun night so much easier.
Vanessa, I hope this helps and that your family has a spooktacular time at the party! If you have any other questions while brewing up your plans, please don’t hesitate to visit us again.
See you real soon,
Christina
