Hey there, hi there, Erika! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! I'm so happy that you've stopped by with your vacation planning question. I love chatting Disney with my pals, pal!
Well, if there is one thing I hate to hear, it is that someone had a less than magical time on their
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I'm so sorry to hear that your last vacation was not everything you had hoped for, but I am thrilled to hear that you are giving it another chance to live up to its name, The Most Magical Place on Earth. If it's magic you're looking for, you will certainly find it at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. It is my favorite Disney event at my favorite time of year to visit my favorite place, so, I'm thrilled to answer your question today!
With the holiday decorations, twinkling lights, Christmas music, the smell of gingerbread and peppermint in the air, and snow on Main Street, U.S.A.,
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party just seems to have extra pixie dust floating throughout Magic Kingdom Park. With so much to do, see and taste, my family and I always attend two Christmas Parties on our holiday vacations, because we just don't want to miss one magical thing.
While some people enjoy riding the attractions with shorter wait times, my family and I like to focus on the Party events. While I don't know exactly what this year's Party will look like, in the past, there were treat stations set up throughout the park for us to enjoy complimentary cookies, hot chocolate, and snow cones, and since some of the cookies were individually packaged, we went home with a bag full of holiday treats. We enjoyed meeting and posing with the rare characters, dancing with the reindeer and elves at Club Tinsel and trying to catch snow while catching a Totally Tomorrowland Christmas stage show.
Mickey's Most Merriest Celebration stage show in front of Cinderella Castle and Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show cannot be missed, but my absolute favorite part of the Party is Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. The parade runs twice at each Party, and my family and I always catch it both times with tears in our eyes and the holiday spirit in our hearts. A very special, jolly Guest closes out the parade, so, get ready for some serious magic.
I must also recommend that you don't miss the special holiday-makeover versions of some of the already-awesome attractions, such as Jingle Cruise and Space Mountain - Holiday Run!! With the red and green lights and cosmic Christmas music, this holiday version of Space Mountain is my absolute favorite! If you aren't a thrill-seeker, you can get a little glimpse of the holidays in space when you ride through on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.
On the day of your Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, I suggest taking a rest day to sleep in, have a big breakfast, swim at your Resort's pool if the weather is warm enough, and take an afternoon nap so that you're ready to stay up late getting into the holiday spirit!
I hope this was helpful, Erika, and I hope you have the very merriest time on your holiday vacation! I hope that this trip makes up for the last one and it is the magical vacation of your dreams. Please stop by any time with any planning questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon,
Mandy
