I have tickets for July 30th to EPCOT. I also have the park reservation. I tried to purchase Genie+ for the lighting lanes (which I have used several times already) but when I attempt to purchase, the systems tells me I do not have valid tickets to Disney.

Hi Damian! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!

Oh boy! There is nothing quite like having a Walt Disney World trip on the books! It seems like you are well-versed in using Disney Genie+ in the parks. Once I got the hang of it, it helped me fit in so much more during my park days. It has especially helped when visiting with my two little ones. Waiting in long lines throughout the day is not something they particularly enjoy doing. Utilizing this service has enabled us to grab a snack or check out a shop while waiting for our time to ride the next attraction.

For your upcoming trip, if you only purchased a single-day ticket for July 30th, then you are unable to add Disney Genie+ before you arrive. Genie+ can only be added to multi-day tickets in advance. You'll need to wait until the day of your park visit to add on this service. Starting at midnight on July 30th, you will need to log on to your My Disney Experience App and purchase Genie+ for the day. It's a very simple process and only takes a matter of moments to complete. I usually log on a few minutes before 7 AM to purchase it and then make my first selection right after.

Just this week, Walt Disney World has made some changes to the process of purchasing Disney Genie+ for your trip. Previously, Guests were able to add this service to their existing multi-day tickets for the entire length of their stay. Starting on June 8th, this is no longer the case. All Guests that want to purchase it must do so each day they wish to use it.

I'm excited you have chosen to visit EPCOT on this trip. With the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival beginning July 14th, you will have plenty to keep you busy on your park day. The new attraction is using a Virtual Queue system when it first opens on May 27th, so I would keep this in mind for your visit. You'll have opportunities at 7 AM and 1 PM on your park day to snag a boarding group to ride this attraction. And from what I've heard from Annual Passholders and my fellow planDisney panelists who had an opportunity to preview this attraction, it is an amazing experience. This attraction will also be available as an Individual Lightning Lane purchase if you prefer to not test your luck with the Virtual Queue system.

Damian, I hope you have a magical time during your upcoming visit! Stop back anytime to planDisney with your planning questions!

    See ya real soon!
