I have tickets for me & my grandson fir August 5th forAnimal Kingdom only. How soon can I schedule my ride times?

    Hiya, Debbie!

Welcome to planDisney! I am delighted to hear that you and your grandson are planning a visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This is one of my favorite spots in Walt Disney World Resort. This park offers epic attractions like Avatar Flight of Passage and incredible wildlife experiences including Kilimanjaro Safaris. There is so much to see and do, and I am sure you are ready to start planning out the perfect itinerary for your day!

If your park tickets have the Disney Genie+ add-on option, you can schedule your first return time for select attractions and experiences beginning at 7 AM ET on the day of your visit. Should there be more than two hours before your return time (after the park opens) you may be able to choose an additional return time before using the first one. After you redeem your Lightning Lane, you may choose your next one. I recommend reviewing all of the Lightning Lane details before your upcoming adventure so that you are able to make the best picks for your day!

Should you not have the Genie+ option on your theme park tickets, Hakuna Matata! You can add this service anytime after midnight on the day of your park visit in the My Disney Experience app. The service can be added in a few easy steps. Tap the three bars at the bottom of the screen to get started. Choose the My Genie Day tile, and click the Get Disney Genie+ Service for Today banner. Follow the remaining prompts and you'll be all set in a matter of moments. Just be sure to add the service before 7 AM so that you are able to make your first Lightning Lane section right away. If you prefer not to purchase this add-on, you will not need to schedule any rides in advance. You can use the standby queues throughout your day, no schedules are required!

Before signing off I want to add a quick reminder about Disney Park Pass reservations. All four theme parks require a reservation in addition to a valid theme park ticket. If you have not crossed this step off of your magical to-do list just yet, I recommend doing so as soon as possible. Some dates offer limited availability due to popularity, so don't delay. Make your Park Pass reservations today!
