We have tickets for our first MNSSHP in October. I have a full skirt wedding dress from the 80's that I would like to wear as my costume. Will I be able to go on rides wearing this dress? Do costumes have to be Disney themed or is a bride costume ok?

    Hi Denise ~

You are going to love Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) It is my favorite special event at the Magic Kingdom. I have a blast dressing up and I am already working on ideas for my costume for this year's event.

Costumes do not have to be Disney related. I saw a family dressed as the gang from Mario Kart last year - they were amazing! Keep in mind that Guests are not allowed to wear masks and costumes should be in good taste since MNSSHP is a family oriented event.

You are allowed to ride rides in costume as long as they do not compromise safety in any way. I have seen Guests dress as the bride from the Haunted Mansion so feel free to wear your wedding dress. You may not want to wear a crinoline as that may be too bulky for some ride vehicles (i.e., Seven Dwarfs Mine Train). Be sure to wear comfortable shoes too. The Magic Kingdom is big and there is a lot of walking and waiting in line even during MNSSHP.

Have fun creating your costume! Please feel free to visit again with all of your planning questions. It is our pleasure to assist you!

Wishing you minnie spooktacular memories :-) Allison V.
