We have tickets to the fireworks dessert post party. Will we be able to watch the new Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away parade? It's scheduled at 8 and 10pm. We are supposed to check in for the party at 8pm.

Hi there, Lisa. Welcome to planDisney.

Lisa, I'm throwing Blue Fairy magic all over this question. You have a reservation to one of my very favorite events: the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties: Post-Party! YAY! Oh my goodness, you are in for a magical time! You'll have the perfect view of Cinderella Castle, Happily Ever After, and Tinker Bell flying overhead. I'm so excited for you!

I've attended this dessert party many times and have seen the new parade, Disney Starlight. While I haven't tried these two events together yet, I've done a lot of research on your question. While you will have a perfect view of the fireworks, your view of the parade will be somewhat obstructed. From my experience, the floats in this parade are quite tall, which is good news because you should be able to see them from the Plaza Garden area. However, keep in mind that the parade is traveling away from you, and there may be obstructions from trees, other Guests, and light posts.

That being said, I have a few suggestions. You will check into your dessert party at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant, and you'll be given a wristband that will allow you to enter the reserved area in front of Cinderella Castle. I recommend arriving at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant 30 minutes before your assigned check-in time to pick up your wristband. Then you'll have two options for viewing the parade. You can either wait on Main Street, U.S.A., to watch the parade go by, then enter the reserved area for fireworks, or you can enter the Plaza Garden right away and choose a spot closer to the front. Personally, this is the option I would choose. Other Guests will line up very early on the parade route, so you'll likely not get a front-row spot. While your view from the Plaza Garden will be obstructed, you'll still have your reserved spot outside of the crowds, see the parade at a distance, and then have the perfect view of the fireworks.

I hope this helps answer your question. After the fireworks, I can't wait for you to enjoy the DELICIOUS desserts, cheese, crackers, and beverages. Lisa, this really is such a magical reservation! You're going to love it!

I'm so happy you stopped by so I could help a fellow Ohioan enjoy the magic. Have SO much fun and let us know if we can help you again.
