Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Nichola. I'm so glad you stopped by! It looks like your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is just about to begin. How exciting!
I'm a big fan of the
Disney After Hours Events. I think the theme parks are extra magical in the nighttime! Add low wait times for popular attractions AND complimentary snacks and beverages? Sign me up!
You ask an excellent question about
Guardians of the Galaxy - Cosmic Rewind. The out-of-this-world queue and pre-show are certainly sensory-rich, so I can understand why you'd want your son to avoid those elements of the attraction experience if they overwhelm him. Guardians of the Galaxy - Cosmic Rewind uses the Standby Queue during
Disney After Hours at EPCOT. I can't be sure if those elements are completely unavoidable when the Standby Queue is utilized. My best advice is to chat with a Cast Member at the attraction entrance. Politely explain your circumstances so the Cast Member can best explain any possible solutions to make your son more comfortable.
In the meantime, I recommend you take some time to review the
Accessibility Planning Guide & Recommendations. There's a section dedicated to Accessing Attractions Queues that has useful and practical tips and techniques on how to help manage the queue experience. I've found that some of the tips, like having a sensory toy or snack on hand, have helped my kiddos tolerate ride queues!
I hope this was helpful, Nichola. I'm wishing you a magical stay at the Walt Disney World Resort!
