I have 5 tickets to DL with visit planned during Christmas break. My wife has recently come down with a severe medical issue, and we will not be able to make the trip without her. Our tickets have an expiry of Jan 13 2023. Can we extend our tickets ?

Greetings, Amit and welcome to planDisney.

Thank you for consulting planDisney, I am very sorry to hear that your wife is not well and wish her a full recovery. I will give you information for the cancellation or extension of stand-alone Disneyland Resort theme park tickets and a Disneyland Resort Vacation package as I do not know if your existing tickets are stand-alone or part of a vacation package.

Amit, if you have stand-alone Disneyland Resort theme park tickets, unfortunately, the tickets are non-refundable, but you may have the flexibility to apply the value of the unused tickets you purchased towards future tickets. For direct assistance and the final word, I highly recommend you contact Disneyland Resort – Tickets as soon as possible.

If you have a Disneyland Resort Vacation Package, there is some flexibility. Vacation packages include accommodations and theme park admission do not incur a fee if canceled 30 days or more before the check-in date. If the vacation package is canceled 2 to 29 days before the check-in date, at this time the cancellation fee is $200 (subject to change). Amit, if the vacation package is cancelled 1 day or less before the check-in date the entire cost of the vacation package will be forfeited (subject to change). You may also consider rescheduling your vacation package to a later date pending availability, although a price difference for the higher may occur. Please contact The Walt Disney Travel Company at (714) 520-5060 or your travel professional for assistance and clarification.

Lastly, for Disneyland Resort hotel Guest Room-only bookings please contact Disneyland Resort – Hotel Reservations five (5) or more days before the check-in date because at four (4) days or less there is a cancellation fee equivalent to one night’s hotel charge. Amit, you may also be able to reschedule your arrival date pending availability and keeping in mind a price difference for the higher may be incurred.

Kindly remember to cancel any existing Disneyland Resort – Theme Park Reservations in consideration of Guests who may be waiting for dates to open. To cancel existing Disneyland Resort – Theme Park Reservations kindly sign into your Disney account and on the far right beneath the My Disneyland planning tab please select Ticket and Reservation Details where you should see the option to cancel your Theme Park Reservations.

Amit, I wish your family all the best, and I hope that your wife feels better soon, so that you can all return to the magic of the Disneyland Resort.
