Hello. I had 3 tickets for Disney’s California Adventure for July 4th or 5th. I was bit by a brown recluse spider and ended up in the hospital and was unable to use my tickets. Can I change the dates? Are the tickets still valid?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Jamie. Thanks for reaching out with your question about tickets.

First of all, I hope you are feeling so much better. Spider bites can be absolutely terrible and I hate that happened to you. Hopefully, you are feeling better than ever. Jamie, I'm actually a Walt Disney World specialist so I reached out to my friend, Tony, who is a former Disneyland Resort panelist just to make sure I was giving you sound advice. So a big thank you to him for helping us both out!

Per the Disneyland Resort website, Jamie, unless otherwise stated the amount paid for any wholly unused, expired Disneyland Resort Theme Park ticket, except for special event tickets or tickets from a third party, may be applied to the purchase of new Theme Park admission tickets. You will be required to pay the additional balance if there is an upcharge to the theme park ticket. If it were me, I'd go ahead and call the Disneyland Resort ticket line at (714) 781-INFO and speak to a Cast Member about your tickets. They'll have all of the up-to-date information about your particular tickets and what you'll be able to do with them. If your tickets were the SoCal special tickets offered earlier this year and you happened to use any of the days already, unfortunately, they are probably expired at this time. If you didn't use any of the days of those, you might be able to apply the value toward a new ticket. If you don't want to call, you can also visit any of the ticket booths at Disneyland and they should be able to help you out as well.

Jamie, it seems to me (if your tickets are unused) that you might have good luck applying them toward another ticket purchase for a later date. That is exciting news! I do hope this is the case and that you'll get to enjoy a magical vacation at the Happiest Place on Earth soon. If you have any other questions about this, please feel free to stop back by and ask me and I'll be happy to help. Also, if you haven't already, head over to planDisney's new Instagram page and follow along. There you'll find all of the latest Disney Parks news and get to follow along with panelists in the parks and maybe get some fun ideas for your next vacation. It's a lot of fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
