We have tickets for Disneyland California Adventure Park for the one and only day we are in town. Can we make reservations for dining in the other park, Disneyland? Or are we limited to just DCAP?

Hey there, hi there, Julianna! Thanks so much for stopping by with your question for us. Welcome to planDisney!

I am thrilled to hear you have a day at Disney California Adventure planned very soon. While anyone with or without reservations to a park can book dining, you will not be permitted entry into Disneyland Park if you only have tickets to Disney California Adventure Park, regardless of whether you hold a dining reservation. Don't worry, there are so many great food options in California Adventure, including my favorite, Lamplight Lounge. This is our family's favorite spot to enjoy a mid-afternoon break and catch the sights and sounds of the park. Reservations for this spot do book up fast, but we have had plenty of success by joining the walk-up list in the Disneyland app, or just going to the location and adding our name with a Cast Member if the walk-up list isn't open.

You can also upgrade your ticket to a park hopper if you really want a dining experience over at Disneyland Park. The parks are just across from each other in the Esplanade — literally a two-minute walk!

Julianna, I hope you and your party have a magical day at Disneyland Resort. We are here with any other planning questions you might have!

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
