    We have tickets to Disney for July 13 and this is my son's first Disney visit! However, I had major surgery May 31 and still home recovering. I'm getting lots stronger but, could it be possible for me to get a wheelchair if needed?

    Hi Lydia! I am so sorry to hear that you have had health issues but glad you are on the road to recovery!  There is nothing like a Disney trip to make that recovery even faster!

    You can rent wheel chairs at each of the parks at the front entrance. They are rented on a first come basis and they are only for park use. There are other options from private companies in the area who will deliver equipment to your resort and pick it up at the end of your trip. This way you can use it even outside the parks. There are also electric vehicles if you prefer something like that. One company that we have used for my mother is Walker Mobility and we have always been very pleased with their equipment and service.

    Remember it is quite hot at Disney in the summer and your strength can diminish in the heat. Being prepared to have the best possible time for you and your family is what is important. Don't try to overdue and not enjoy your vacation!
