Hi! I have tickets for 1/22 but would like to buy a pass tomorrow. Can I put my ticket towards the payment somehow?

    Welcome to planDisney, Mayson!

Oh boy! It sounds like you have all your Donald Ducks in a row for your visit to The Happiest Place On Earth this month. How exciting that you’re already preparing to make the fun last all with brand-new Magic Keys! 2024 is going to be a thrilling year at the resort, and I know you’ll love joining in on the fun throughout the Valentine’s, Lunar New Year, and the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival season. So, let's see what we can do to make the most of your Disney Dollars!

Mayson, upgrades on unused tickets can only be done on-site before the resort closes for the day. At that time, you’ll have to pay the difference between your one-day admission ticket and the Magic Key tier that you choose immediately since payment plans are not available for upgrades.

But Mayson, if you aren’t available on the day that Magic Key sales reopen, and you’re afraid that the Key of your dreams will sell out before you’re able to visit the ticket booths in person this month, here’s an idea: Since Magic Keys are not activated until the first day that you physically visit the theme parks, you can purchase one online, and you’re renewal date won’t begin until you choose to scan it in the parks. That means that since you already have an admission ticket, you can still use it on January 22nd, and once you’ve used that, you can switch over to the Magic Keys that you purchased using the virtual queue on January 10th.

I know that option doesn’t necessarily save you any Disney Dollars, Mayson, but it’s a smart way to make the most of the resources you have!

I hope this helps you plan a magical year of adventure, Mayson.  If you have any more questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out again for a quicker response now that you’ve got a friend in me.
