My ticket/band was purchased several months ago and linked with my family's resort stay. I will not be able to go. Will I be able to use the band as a ticket at a later date?

Hi Summer! I am sorry you won't be able to join your family on this Walt Disney World vacation but I am sure you will find a time when you can get to the magical destination to enjoy some fun filled days.

The Walt Disney World Magic Band is simply an instrument for guests to use to make their vacation more simplified. Instead of having to carry around and keep track of room keys, park tickets, and paper fastpasses the bands will be take care of all of this for you. If you have a valid ticket linked to the band it will remain good as long as you have not used it. Once you use a ticket it remains good for only 14 days. Also please check to see if it has any sort of expiration date. If you purchase another ticket or make another reservation all you will need to do is link these to your My Disney Experience account for future use. The bands themselves will remain good to link things to for about two years. If for some reason your band stops working during your stay you will be given a complimentary gray one at your resort or you can purchase one of the special designed ones at several of the shops in the parks.

So if the ticket linked to your band for the trip you cannot take does not have an expiration date and has not been used at all it will remain on your account and you can use that band or any other band that you link to your My Disney Experience.
