Hi there, Lauren! Welcome to planDisney—I’m so glad you stopped by with your question today!
It sounds like you’re hoping to transfer a theme park ticket to another Guest, and I’d be happy to help explain how that works. Before I dive in, if I’ve misunderstood what you’re asking, please don’t hesitate to
circle back with us here at planDisney or
contact the Disneyland Resort directly to speak with a friendly Cast Member who can take a closer look at your specific situation.
If you’re hoping to transfer an unused ticket to another Guest, I have some good news—it’s actually quite simple to do! A ticket can be reassigned as long as it hasn’t been used to enter either park. However, once a Guest has scanned that ticket and entered
Disneyland Park or
Disney California Adventure Park (even for just one day on a multi-day ticket), it becomes linked to that Guest for the remainder of its use and can’t be transferred.
If the ticket already has someone’s name associated with it, there’s no need to worry. The name doesn’t have to match the person who will ultimately use it. Once the new Guest scans the ticket at the entrance, their photo will be captured as part of the entry process, and that ticket will then be linked to them for the rest of their visit.
That said, you can certainly request to have the name on the ticket updated before your trip. This can be especially helpful when managing plans in the
Disneyland mobile app, such as making Lightning Lane selections with
Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Having names that match the Guests in your party helps keep everything tidy and easy to navigate when booking attraction return times or viewing plans in the app’s “Today's Plans” section.
And if your visit is coming up soon, Lauren, you’ll be arriving at one of the most enchanting times of the year! The
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort are just about to begin, bringing shimmering décor,
festive touches, and new and beloved
seasonal treats throughout both parks. Whether you’re strolling down
Main Street, U.S.A. under a canopy of twinkling lights or taking in the merry magic of
“it’s a small world” Holiday, it’s truly a special season to experience the Disneyland Resort.
Here’s wishing you smooth planning, easy ticket transfers, and a visit filled with holiday cheer, Lauren!
See ya real soon!
