Hey there Laura,
Thanks so much for your question and welcome to planDisney! We're so glad you stopped by.
It's always great to meet a fellow planner - it sounds like you're already getting a jump on your 2024 vacation planning. Kudos to you!
Currently, you need both valid
theme park tickets and
theme park reservations to enter one of the parks of the Disneyland Resort. Your first step, then, is to purchase your tickets! You can take this step whenever you're ready as tickets are good to be used all the way through their expiration date. If you purchased multi-day tickets from the Disneyland Resort website today, for example, they would not expire until January 12, 2025.
Once you've purchased your tickets, then you would need to wait until the theme park reservation window opened up for the dates of your trip. This window is currently open 120 days in advance, as you can see on the
Theme Park Reservation Calendar, however in a
recent Disney Parks Blog article, it was announced that this window would extend out to 180 days by the end of October!
Once that window has been extended, that means you'll be able to make your theme park reservations for your trip at the end of May 2024 as early as the end of November 2023 (180 days in advance of your trip). I think that also warrants you to start your countdown calendar until your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth!
Thanks again for your question, Laura! Feel free to come back and see us here at planDisney with any other follow-ups you think of as you get closer to your trip. We'd be glad to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
